You are eligible to apply as a freshman if you have graduated from high school and have not completed postsecondary coursework.
If your educational history includes coursework from outside the United States, then you must complete the international admissions requirements listed on this page.
Steps to apply
- New College Application or Common Application (no application fee)

- Athletes are required to submit a course-by-course credential evaluation with a grade point average (GPA) calculation through InCred.
Application Details
Transcripts
- To receive an admissions decision, you must submit at least three full years of your most recent secondary school transcripts, including courses in progress (grades 9, 10 and 11 + senior schedule) in both the native language of instruction and a word for word certified English translation (if applicable).
- Unofficial transcripts can be uploaded electronically for the review process via the Application Status Page.
- Official final transcripts and translations are required by July 1 (fall start term) or December 1 (spring start term). They must be sent directly from your institution to New College of Florida by mail or email.
Non-English Transcripts
- Transcripts and degree certificates/diplomas not issued in English must be accompanied by a certified, literal line-for-line English translation of the original document. Acceptable certified translations are issued by your institution or a professional translating service.
Credential Evaluation
- Applicants whose educational history has not followed a curriculum patterned after the U.S. system are encouraged to submit their academic transcripts to a credential evaluation agency for a course-by-course evaluation with a grade point average (GPA) calculation.
- NCF accepts an evaluation from any current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services and any endorsed member of the Association of International Credential Evaluators.
- Athletes are required to submit a course-by-course credential evaluation with a grade calculation through InCred.
- Unofficial copies of transcripts and degree certificates still must be submitted with a credential evaluation during the application process.
Student Visa
- If admission is granted, we will request and collect all required documentation related to the student visa process.
- Official exam reports are only required if you deposit and enroll at New College. Official SAT or ACT scores must be reported on your official school transcript(s), or submitted directly to our office by the testing service using the codes College Board (SAT) #5506 or American College Testing Program #0750. If you are applying for admission to Fall 24 or later and took the Classic Learning Test, submit your score using your CLT student account.
- If you have already graduated high school, and you expect to earn the AA from another Florida public college or university before the term you are applying to enter, please ask your admissions counselor if the SAT/ACT/CLT requirement can be waived.

*These deadlines are for incoming foreign national students planning to enter the United States under the F-1 student visa. If you require an F-1 visa, you must deposit by the May 1 deadline to allow enough time for the visa process. All required materials must be received by New College Admissions in order to receive a decision. Please plan ahead to make sure we get all of your materials on time!
